As an AP style parent, I'm a big believer in that you don't really need a lot of "stuff" to have a baby. The first time around I had like, spreadsheets of all the "must haves" and a lot of it (swing, wipe warmer, swaddles, etc) sat around collecting dust. All you really need, in my opinion is your boobs and some diapers. That being said, here are some of the things that have come in handy the second time around:
1.
This baby carrier- it's my favorite favorite. I basically wear it all day, every day.
I wrote more about it here!
2.
The Boppy Lounger- You just NEED a place to set them down the second time around.
This is probably our most used item, other than the carrier. We liked this one better than others because of the angle. Ralphie likes to be able to see what is going on around him.
3.
A double stroller-
this one can go in about a billion combinations. We also love
the rider board that hooks on.
4.
This sponge bath thing! This seems like such a weird purchase, but it has been SO helpful when bathing two of them- read all
the reviews!
5.
The Nose Frida- this is just a great thing to have for any baby, but you kind of need an individual one for each baby.
6. & 7. Their own
blankets and
burp cloths. Of course you could reuse these, but I found it nice to have new ones for the new addition.
These are Ralphie's swaddles. And the old burp clothes have that weird yellow tint. We love
these ones, they're nice and big!
8.
A dual camera baby monitor- if you are lucky enough to have both kids sleeping at the same time, in a room away from you,
this will come in handy. So far, that has not happened to me, ha.
9.
A wrap or
a sling for those early days before the carrier feels right.
