Thank You Notes with Basic Invite

Thank you notes!  How many times did my mom drill me on the importance of thank you notes during my childhood?  Only about a zillion.  I remember way back when, before I could even write working on my thank you notes after every birthday and Christmas.  And now with Ophelia I definitely want to continue to encourage her to express gratitude and thankfulness.   Luckily the options are so much prettier than when I was a kid!  I worked with Basic Invite to create custom photo thank you cards for my little bunny and they are seriously adorable.

I also had to get this floral one, because I just can't resist anything floral!

I love the Basic Invite platform- they were super easy to work with, and all of our cards turned out perfectly.

Some more of their awesome features include: (that address collection service would have been SO amazing when I was getting married!)

Almost Unlimited Colors - Basic Invite is one of the few websites that allows customers almost unlimited color options with instant previews online. Once you select a design you can change the color of each element on the card to over 180 different color options so you can make sure the card is exactly how you want it down to the littlest detail.

Custom Samples - Basic Invite is one of the few websites that allows customers the ability to order a printed sample of their actual invitation so they can see exactly how it will print as well as the paper quality before they ever have to place their final order.

Free Address Collection Service - Use the free address collection service to request your addresses with just three simple steps. Share a link, collect addresses, and get free envelope printing.

Thank You Cards - They carry over 1500 thank you card designs. Each one of them customizable to suit your style. We have a thank you note for every occasion and our designs vary from foil to photo and everything in between!

We had a lot of fun working on our thank you notes.
Thank you to Basic Invite for making it so pretty!

Valentine's Day Favorites

Snuggle Puppy // Where is Baby's Valentine? // Happy Love Day, Daniel Tiger

I always say Valentine's Day is my favorite holiday, because of the decorations.  They're the cutest! And as with every other gift giving occasion, I think books are the perfect Valentine.  This book is mine and Ophelia's absolute favorite, this one is seriously so sweet, and of course my little friend would love a Valentine from her friend Daniel Tiger.

Obviously,  your little needs some adorable Valentine's Day duds!  If someone had a Valentine's Day/February baby this would be a perfect take home outfitThese little slippers seriously kill me,  Ophelia would flip over this adorable tutu, I can't wait to dress my little guy in cute little suspenders, and this heart tunic just went into my cart.

Snowy Day Toddler Activity- Rice Sensory Bins

It is very much a winter wonderland out there right now, so during naptime I whipped up some sweet sensory bins that have kept my two year old occupied for, I kid you not, thirty minutes now!  Super easy, and there are about a million more things you could add to them! I just used basic white rice and a big storage bin

In the first one, I hid pieces of her alphabet puzzle.  Find it here.

This basic one is just cups and measuring spoons, and seems to be her favorite.

I also hid her animal figurines! Find them here.

Maternity Activewear

This pregnancy, I've managed to keep running the entire time.  I'm 34 weeks as of yesterday!  It feels pretty amazing, and baby boy has been a great running partner.  My number one piece of advice is listen to your body- with Ophelia I only made it until around 20 weeks and developed major sciatica.  This time, I've gone super slow, and made sure to stretch a ton afterwards.  I also find that doing squats on my off days helps me with strength- running with 20 extra pounds on your front is HEAVY!

I rounded up some of my favorite pieces of maternity activewear to help you keep working out with that bump. As I've said before, these are my favorite maternity leggings- and these tanks are the best!

Embracing Where You Are

not Mexico.

Mexico!

WELL. Yesterday we were supposed to be off to our babymoon in warm, sunny Mexico.  But, sadly my husband was taken down by the nasty flu that is going around.  So, here we are, still in snowy, freezing Minnesota.  And I am doing my very best to not let it bum me out, and instead embrace where are.

So, I thought I'd write a little ode to some of my cold weather favorites- namely, these boots.  These boots are seriously THE BEST... they're amazingly comfortable- lined with fur, easy to slip on (a necessary trait when you are eight months pregnant and carrying your two year old), water proof, and still cute enough that they go with jeans, leggings, or a dress.  I'm telling you, they make that freezing trek from the door to the car a little bit better.

Dressing A Baby Boy

When I found out baby #2 was a boy, I of course was thrilled, but too be totally honest?  A little bummed.  Only because of the clothes.  The burnt orange and the "mommy's little slugger" onesies are, in my opinion,  kind of the worst.  But I've actually been having SO much fun finding cute boy clothes- it's even more fun than the girl stuff, because it's more of a hunt! Pretty much all the girl stuff is adorable, but finding the hidden sweet things for my little guy has been such a blast.  And yes, he is totally going to wear bonnets.  He already has three.
