Where to Hang With Your Babe

Winter is coming.  It is absoolutellly beautiful outside now, but we know it is looming.  Luckily, Ophelia and I have become quite the experts at the best spots for baby and mom to hang out in the Twin Cities all winter long.  Here is a giant roundup!

Indoor Playgrounds
all have a separate toddler/baby area we stick to and are free for under 1!
Eagles Nest- New Brighton
Good Times Park-  Eagan
Blast Park- Eagan
Pinwheel Play- Chanhassen
* this one is new and we haven't been here yet, but it looks so fun!
Edinbourough- Edina
Lookout Ridge- Woodbury
Wishing Tree Play Cafe- White Bear Lake
* this one is new too- they have food!  It looks like this one is only free under 9 months.
Music Classes
Drop in Class- Teeny Bee Boutique- Free!
* we LOVE going to this every Monday!

Blooma is kind of, um, mom & baby heaven, and thus in a category of it's own!  The (free!) new mom's group will get you though that crazy postpartum time, BYOB (bring your own baby!) Yoga is such a fun way to get to know your little one, and the class we currently attend, Movers and Crawlers, is a music and movement combo class that gets Ophelia so excited right we walk in the building.  There is also yoga and barre for moms, with childcare!

Mom's Groups
Health Foundations- where Philly was born!

Libraries/Bookstores/Storytimes
*this place is super cool and worth a visit, but the storytime  (at least when we have been there) is insane.  Like wall to wall insane.
The Roseville library is very impressive- great kid's space and a coffee shop inside!
The Woodbury library has an awesome kid area as well.

Tot Time- Open Gym

Nature Centers
Dodge Nature Center- Mendota
Tamarack Nature Center-  Woodbury *on our list to get to this fall!

Museums
Minneapolis Institute of Art- this is actually one of the places I recommend the most!  It's free, and a super peaceful place to hang with your babe.  Plus the family center is a super cool play place- my husband and I actually both love playing with the toys there.
Children's Museum- under construction right now so in my opinion it isn't worth the fee, but excited for the renovation to be done!  There is also an outpost at the Mall of America.

Extras
Sovereign Grounds Coffee Shop- has a big attached play space- Ophelia loves it here.
Mall play areas (Rosedale, Southdale are the ones we have been to)
Riverview Cafe- we haven't been here, but it is near us and I can't wait to check it out.  Looks like there is a play area so you can eat while your littles play!
Choo Choo Bobs- a train store with a free play area and storytime!

I'd also like to do a seasonal roundup like this- apple orchards, holiday events, so let me know if you would be interested in that!

WHAT I GOT ON : Overalls, Shirt- old Ace & Jig, similar, similar  Flannel
